Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, I moved to New York City in 1976. A graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, I continued my studies with Mario Cooper, Dale Meyers and Costa Vavagiakis at the Art Students League of New York; and with Serge Hollerbach at the National Academy of Design. Fine art painting has always been an integral part of my life; my work has been shown in a number of galleries and is in several private collections. After a 30-year career as an art director, designer, photographer, and creator of original art work, I turned my passion for nature into a profession. Today I am an avid Central Park birder, urban dendrologist, amateur entomologist, an instructor in the Urban Naturalist Program at the NY Botanical Garden, and an active artist.
