Landscapes

Nearly all of these works are watercolors and most were painted out of doors, on location, “en plein air.” Many were painted in the Adirondack Mountains and on the south shore of Long Island. A selection of older work features watercolor scenes from Death Valley, California, and other areas of the American southwest and beyond.

A landscape, be it a woodland, shoreline, mountain range, desert, or public green space is a sanctuary of form and color. It provides sustenance and abundant space and breathing room not only for the wild plants and creatures who live there, but also for the careful observer who in their travels makes time to search for beauty, wonder, and inspiration.
